Our verdict

A good offering from Scott. Nice adventure shoe. Solid feeling with a great grip.

  • Solid construction
  • Swift feel to them
  • Negative
  • Rigid
  • Firm cushioning

First impressions

Thanks to this ‘faster’ feel but despite the friendly 11mm heel drop, this is the kind of shoe best at home on forest trails.

Midsole

There’s’s plenty built in to help you on tougher terrain - the rock plate is a good defence and sits comfortable on the EVA. The shoe has a slightly harder feel than some on the market, but that’s no bad thing. It works well with the construction. There’s an 11m heel to toe drop.

Upper

The Gore-Tex goes about its job pretty well in that the upper, built without seams, feels light and breathable. For some, however, it does feel a little rigid. That, of course, is because the shoe is built for pretty demanding terrain where your foot is thrown around, but the solid feel can be an issue on regular countryside and road.

Sole

While the promise that the legs are self cleaning lugs might be a bit bold, it’s true they don’t clog up! They can handle most of which you’ll throw at it - security on tough terrain is the name of the game for these shoes.

Conclusion

A faster feeling shoe that can cope with a variety of surfaces, but best at home on predictable surfaces.
