Overall these shoes were great. They were lightweight with plenty of energy return. I was able to run workouts, tempos and long runs in them without much issue on most days. Just make sure that it is a dry day or you will regret the lack of grip.
A lightweight daily neutral trainer which can log many miles in.
The Saucony Ride franchise is a very popular shoe thanks to the performance for the price. The Ride v10 has received a major overhaul and has been voted a “Best Update” by Runner’s World, and trying it a while, I understand why. The cushion is more responsive and can handle any distances you want to throw at them without being heavy or too flat.
The bulk is the Power Foam that is combined with a thin layer of Everun topsole which is specifically designed for increased energy return and next to foot comfort. Both these are excellent materials and run really well so the combination is a smooth and comfortable ride that is very responsive,
A seamless mesh with no frills approach is let down overall by a cheap sockliner that you will most likely be better replacing with a different one. An obvious cost saving exercise within Saucony HQ but one that really cheapens the overall experience. The collar and that tongue are both good and nicely padded, and the breathability is sufficient in all weathers.
The rubber on this shoe is pretty poor and really lets down the overall balance of the shoe. This really is a slippy shoe in wet conditions and it was frustrating on the 2 times I went out in wet conditions - First run wasn't great, but the second one was a test on a different route and surface and they were still crap!
A really good shoe that feels responsive and has plenty of cushioning but it is massively let down by a more than average rubber compound on the outsole which is just too slippy in wet conditions to be a year round practical training shoe. A shame as overall this really is a good running shoe!
