Plenty of cushioning and enough support for a mild pronators. The Saucony Omni 20 is one of the best shoes on the market at combining stability and comfort into one rounded package
The Saucony Omni 20 is a capable high mileage training shoe that goes directly up against the likes of the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 22 for all round comfort and support. The shoe felt fast and responsive when doing a tempo run, but also was extremely comfortable of a 15 + mile training run. For a shoe with this much support, the Omni 20 is incredibly versatile.
Saucony’s PWRRUN foam cushioning is excellent at absorbing impact and returning a decent amount of energy back to you. The midsole has a good spring to it, and the shape delivers a smooth heel to toe transition on a relatively wide base of support. The key element though is the extended second density medial post that helps to support the inside of the foot and arch. Amongst modern support shoes, the Omni has a more support than most and is really a great option for someone who wants a lightweight shoe but needs a decent level of support. Within this support category, the Omni 20 is definately one of the best on the market for controlling overpronation.
An engineered mesh upper with some seamless support around the laces delivers a decent fit and is comfortable - I just think that compared to some other shoes on the market the upper looks dated a little, which will appeal to the tradionalists. Fit is broad and the toe box is roomy, so will suit a flatter foot or wide foot well, but I have a relatively narrow foot and there was no issues with baggy or loose fit. Overall, a decent no frills upper on a solid shoe.
Saucony Omni 20 uses a combination of high-wear rubber materials for a more flexible outsole found on many of the Saucony shoes to combine to deliver a hard wearing shoe that transitions really well from heel to toe.
A great shoe for eating up easy miles in comfort and more than enough stability for most runners - a very responsive shoe that is perfect for anyone looking for a running shoe with some extra guidance.
