For me the most overlooked shoe in the Endorphin line up. At this price it's great value and makes a great all round shoe.

Our verdict

An overlooked shoe hidden in a sea of super shoes with carbon plates. No plate here but you do get a shoe that's great for training, speed work and even racing. For a one-shoe solution it's a winner.

  • Positive
  • Versatile option
  • Good cushioning
  • Rocker-ride feels great
  • Negative

First impressions

That deep rocket midsole has all the hallmarks of a new breed racing shoe, but this is a more versatile, lightweight trainer thats happy at any speed.

Midsole

Deep midsole provides a relatively firm ride at first but after around 30 miles seems to soften up nicely and feel softer and more welcoming. The rocker effect works well and the relatively stiff feel to the forefoot compliments it and thats what gives this shoe the faster feel, promoting a strong toe-off.

Upper

Light and breathable, the construction has a premium quality feel and fit to match. No frills, but doesnt need them. No issues here.

Sole

The outsole is limited to areas of key wear and friction but that doesn't detract. In our tests the shoe is holding up very well and shows no visible signs of wear after around 150 miles of use - so we don't expect any issues with regards to durability in the long term.

Conclusion

If you want to experience the effect of the carbon plated shoes on the market currently - but don't fancy thier price tags, then this shoe is certainly worth trying. You get all the performance benefits with just a slight weight difference (you wont notice) but in a more useable shoe that can turn its hand to any training session.
