Rugged and ready for anything you throw at it. Great for long days in the mountains.
Saloman’s breathable upper and Endofit sock liner makes this a comfortable shoe. It’s wide fitting, so that will be a major plus for many, but stable and supportive thanks to the Sensifit technology used. But it’s also in part due to the patented quick lace system which most of our test team love to bits. There’s the odd one out there who struggles with it, but more often that not, this is a real thumbs up when it comes to creating a shoe that fits to your individual foot shape. The Mud Guard technology tells you these are shoes for off-road. Don’t mess about on the pavement, the cushioning, protection and stability elements are all about dealing with extreme conditions.
The midsole uses the compressed EVA that is extended in the entire midsole to deliver enough amount of underfoot cushioning. Found in the forefoot is the injected EVA which also gives underfoot cushioning while running. For enhanced cushioning, the midsole is developed with an Ortholite sockliner which creates a cooler, drier, healthier, better-cushioned environment under the foot.
Fitted with Salomon's low profile advanced chassis, which is placed between the outsole and midsole to maximise security, motion control, energy management and push through protection for a high performance, stable and responsive ride.
The upper of the Salomon XA Pro 3D is constructed with a single layer open air mesh combined with nylon layer which allows extreme breathability and top abrasion resistance. Fitted with the Sensifit system, it works to cradle the foot and provides a precise and secure fit. For easy-on and easy-off, the shoe is equipped with the Quicklace system which ensures a minimalistic and strong lace for one-pull tightening. The Lace Pocket then provides an easy storage point for the Quick Fit Lacing System. The shoes also feature Friction Free Lace Eyelets for quick and easy one pull lacing and asymmetrical lacing for a customised fit and quick adjustment. Lastly, with a Protective Rubber Toe Cap, it ensures maximum protection against loose, sharp rocks and debris in the mountain and in trail environments.
The Premium Wet Traction Contagrip outsole has a distinctive profile that ensures lightweight performance on soft, wet terrain. On rocky, wet ground the outsole offers you optimal grip.
Great multi sport shoe or for long days in the mountains. Stick to the trails and they won’t let you down. You can venture onto the hard stuff for a bit, but not too far!
