Tough upper, durable outsole, this no nonsense neutral performance off-roader will deliver on a variety of off-road surfaces including the rockiest of trails best suited for uptempo training and trail racing.
A hard riding, grippy shoe that enjoys the challenge of the trail. Great for mixing hard surfaces with gloop.
Two-piece midsole provides a solid feeling ride that is flexible and allows your feet to move with the terrain. They are relatively stiff compared to soft, road running cousins, but for technical running this means they are in their element.
As ever with Salomon the Quicklace system is used. Some love it (us included), but there are some out there who just don’t get on with the system. In this instane, Quicklace, reinforced Sensifi, and endoFIT work together to comfortably hug your foot, keeping it secure and delivering precise performance especially on technical descents. We say it definitely holds your feet in place on a huge variety of tough, undulating surfaces, but admit getting it just right can be a bit of a pain for some. Conquer it though and you have a shoe that works with you.
A series of grip, fit and protective technologies work together to create a shoe that works will on the descent. We took these out into the Alps (very glamorous we know) for a real test on some serious descents and were more than happy with the security supplied.
For technical, rocky (or muddy) terrain, these really come into their own. A very good looking, durable shoe that will get on with hard work without too much grumbling. And actually we found they don’t mind a bit of pace as well.
MIDSOLE
Molded EVA midsole provides underfoot cushioning.
Injected EVA runs the length of the shoe for underfoot cushion.
ProFeel Film is a thin TPU film in the midsole providing midfoot protection without losing ground feel.
OUTSOLE
Premium Wet Traction Contagrip offers non-slip traction for the toughest of trails.
UPPER
Stretch Air Mesh is a breathable mesh upper that offers a comfortable, individualized fit.
Protective Rubber Toe Cap keeps toes safe from bruising on trails.
Sensifit is located on the medial and lateral sides and is designed to wrap the foot with a secure fit.
Endofit is a sock like upper that yields unmatched comfort and fit.
Quicklace is made from durable Kevlar fibers and is intended for easy shoe entry and exit.
Lace Pocket tucks laces out of the way while running.
Die Cut EVA Sockliner provides additional underfoot cushioning.
