Our verdict

A decent shoe which will give a comfortable ride on rocky trails.

  • Positive
  • Good midsole
  • Water resistant upper
  • Negative
  • Tough competition at the price point

First impressions

Another shoe from Swedish brand, the Trail 6 is built around the brands signature last which aims to promote a more natural gait.

Midsole

The shoe uses a combination of the brands Recoil and Softfoam cushioning materials. Together these provide better shock absorption as well as a higher rebound rate, so a more responsive feel. With a 25mm stack of cushioning and a 5mm drop, the shoe certainly does feel softer and livelier than many off-roaders. A built-in rock-guard provides protection from sharp stones and a stability plate in the midfoot keeps things steady and controlled without feeling too rigid.

Upper

The upper is a very breathable dual-layer mesh that’s soft and flexible, with the tongue being a neoprene construction for a layer of protection that should resist holding water should things get very wet.

Sole

A Vibram Metagrip outsole is hard wearing and like many, although not overly aggressive proves very effective as providing traction on most terrain.

Conclusion

A good vibrab midsole / outsole combo coupelled with a water resistant upper makes a good shoe at a price. Have a look for discounted ones but better options at the full asking price.
