A great update to this popular model. Where it had previously lagged behind the pack a little, this version brings it up to pace with the leading contenders. The new Fresh Foam gives it a light and plush feel.
A great update. The use of the brand's latest FreshFoam now makes the shoe a serious contender as an everyday mileage shoe for the neutral runner.
The 880 has always been a solid, dependable shoe for the neutral runner. This update moves it up into the lead pack thanks to the new FreshFoam X cushioning. It's a plusher, softer and more responsive material and feels smooth as the foot rolls forward. The upper is an engineered mesh construction with a seamless interior that wraps the foot beautifully with a slight stretch to it that provides a sock-like fit.
The 880 is a very good shoe. Sitting above it in the brand's neutral line-up is the Fresh Foam 1080 v10 or if you fancy a max cushioned shoe, have a look at the Fresh Foam More v2.
The FreshFoam X is what brings the shoe bang up to date. New Balance's answer to a super-foam, it has a more responsive feel than ever before to make the shoe feel light, balanced and smooth riding.
A very neatly designed upper, it's breathable, wraps the foot well and has a stretch-like quality to it that gives a sock-like fit.
A combination of durable carbon rubber in the heel and blown rubber forefoot. There's plenty of grooves for flexibility so it proves both durable and able to cope with roads and even light trails.
