A great shoe for comfortable off-road long distance running. There are shoes with better grip so it depends on what you want them to do, but if you want a competent and comfortable shoe over the distance, certainly consider the Hierro v5.
The Hierro v5 comes in an almost graffitti set of colourways which we think look great. Designed to be a long distance, cushioned off-roader, they certainly look like they fit the brief.
The re-engineered Fresh Foam cushioning feels every bit as good as you’d find on a premium road-going shoe, soaking up every bit of impact regardless of the surface; rocks or road are taken easily in its stride.
A bootie construction to the upper is plush and supportive, holding the foot well but feeling instantly comfortable. There’s durable panels where required so the shoe is built for the long run.
The flare to the outsole at the heel provides traction from the very first point of impact and with multi-directional studs, works well ascending or descending.
Trail shoes can often be a compromise on either grip or cushioning; great grip but with very little cushioning or vice-versa. With this model there’s nothing to worry about as it offers great grip from the Vibram MegaGrip outsole and cushioning so plush you hardly notice the terrain at all!
Fresh Foam X delivers plush cushioning for those who want a soft underfoot feel, updated for additional compliance and cushioning.
Vibram MegaGrip Outsole is made from a tough, durable compound that gives exceptional grip on the road.
Aggressive Lugs are multidirectional and deeper for improved traction in a variety of terrains.
TPU-Coated Textile Upper helps to maintain high breathability while keeping debris out.
Toe Protect is a thin layer of rubber printed to the upper that provides additional protection and durability for toes
Bootie Construction delivers a soft, irritant-free wrap.
