A premium support category shoe that aims to offer an added spring to your stride with the new ENERZY midsole unit.
It performs well and lifts the shoe over the previous model.
A worthy contender against models such as the BROOKS GLYCERIN GTS and ASICS KAYANO.
A little more expensive than the brands WAVE INSPIRE but for the money we think you’ll certainly welcome the additional cushioning. It’s soft without bottoming out and responsive without being unstable. It’s a shoe you can log big miles in and perfect for the distance running wanting a reliable daily trainer.
The shoe offers a fantastic fit, the build quality is superb and quality of materials are among the best around.
Cushioning feels deep and plush, able to soak up any impact and the support feels balanced and well placed.
The design of the midsole echoes the brand’s Wave pattern but here it’s made up of multiple layers of foam, now using the brand’s new ENERZY material embedded as a core. The ENEZY adds a responsive feel to the shoe which is certainly welcome in this category of model. Often support shoes can feel a little flat, here we have a lively feel that energises your stride.
Support and control is good, it’s a very balanced feel and provide control without feeling at all restrictive.
The engineered knit uses high quality materials and really does feel great. It’s a soft, lightly padded fit and feel around the foot and really hugs the foot well. The design supports the midfoot and works in conjunction with the midsole to help control excessive over-pronation.
The padding in the heel collar is another plus point, it’s pillow-like feel really welcomes the foot as you step in.
The usual Mizuno X10 carbon in the heel adds to the durability whilst elsewhere it’s a smooth riding affair that’s ideally suited to the roads.
A worthy contender against models such as the BROOKS GLYCERIN GTS and ASICS KAYANO, the Horizon is now a shoe that sees beyond simply providing control and injects the stride with a little pop! If you want more cushioning that the WAVE INSPIRE but don’t want to sacrifice support, then this is the shoe for you.
