One of the very best motion control shoes on the market. Mizuno's statement control shoe, it comes at a price but we think it is worth it.
The brands premium offering for those seeking maximum cushioning from a control shoe, this model, despite the premium price tag is a very tempting proposition.
With many models priced around £120, a shoe has to really stand out if it’s going to push beyond that price bracket and this is a model that really does that.
With their XPOP PU foam cushioning running the full-length of the shoe you have a very definite and energetic feeling ride. Couple this with a slightly firmer layer, effectively integrated into the Wave design and you have great stability too.
To be honest, the ride is so plush and smooth you’ll hardly notice the support, but worry not, it does a very good job of providing all the control required.
An engineered mesh upper is a great example of the use of this seamless construction in a premium model and completes the premium fit and feel of this shoe.
Mizuno's usual X10 carbon adourns the forefoot and heel for durability.
The Wave Horizon 4 delivers maximum cushioning and control. It's a great shoe and unlike many in this category, you hardly notice the motion control elements within the shoe.
Mizuno Wave Foam midsole creates an all-new plush underfoot experience.
U4ic foam closest to the ground is a lightweight midsole that provides optimal shock absorption, improved durability, and a resilient ride.
U4icX foam directly under your foot is a more cushioned version of U4ic that delivers increased responsiveness with a soft, pillowy underfoot feel.
XPOP is a polyurethane midsole foam that provides great cushioning with a touch of responsiveness.
Smooth Ride creates a smooth transition from heel to toe.
X10 located in the heel and forefoot is made of durable carbon rubber for enhanced traction.
AIRmesh covers the forefoot to provide breathability and an adaptable fit.
Padded heel collar wraps the heel to hold it comfortably in place.
AeroHug provides a foot-hugging fit that adapts throughout the runner's stride.
Maximum Cushion Sockliner adds a layer of plush cushioning directly beneath the foot.
u4icX Strobel Lining stitches the upper to full-length fabric for a comfortable underfoot feel.
