The Mizuno Wave Enigma 6 is a premium neutral running shoe best suited for daily training and a neutral foot motion. Now at a great price.
Updates to the Mizuno Wave Enigma 6 include a new semi stretch mesh for this cushioned everyday shoe for the neutral runner. It’s a soft, well cushioned shoe sits on a stable base. An alternative is the Nike Pegasus 33.
First Impressions? Our test team all had pretty good first impressions. It is not overly outstanding in terms of looks but it is clear its a more than capable everyday shoe for neutral runners.
Mizuno has been hard at work to make this shoe even more road-friendly. Underneath, there’s a full-length foam unit that delivers response and cushioning in the form of U4ic. The lighter U4icxX sits under the heel for a soft underfoot experience. As you would expect, the Wave – a thermal plastic unit – runs from heel to mid-foot to provide flexibility and absorb impact on landing. The Extended Wave Plate delivers torsional rigidity, which helps in achieving a smoother and more efficient heel-to-toe transition.
Underneath all of this sits an X-10 outsole unit with is durable and provides good traction on a number of surfaces. This isn’t a trail shoe, but it can cope! Flex grooves add to that flex feel. The 12mm heel to toe drop is a favourite with Mizuno and very good for most runners.
Mizuno uses its Dynamotion Fit to provide a soft, supportive home for your feet. An open mesh ensures breathability and ventilation – your feet won’t get hot in these shoes. Expect snug, secure and temperature regulated. The laces work with the synthetic overlays to secure all of this even more.
A good every day shoe. Beginner 10km runners will enjoy the flexibility and cushioning, more advanced runners will appreciate the way the shoe works over a number of different surfaces for a good training companion.
