Plus size cushioning and a reasonably aggressive outsole make this an off-road option for those seeking to cover more ground or simply feel the need for a deeper cushioned ride. The increased cushioning means it's less stable on very rough terrain, so consider your routes carefully.
Light and reasonably flexible (given the deep midsole cushioning) make this a shoe for off-road running on dry and firmer trails. Avoid technical routes as the added height from the thick cushioning means things can become unstable.
Lightweight, off-road shoe with plenty of cushioning. It's a relatively simple, no-nonsense design but works well or less technical and drier trails.
The dual density midsole uses a softer heel cushioning material with a firmer forefoot. Combined with the lower, 5mm heel drop, heel strikers can feel like they are sometimes 'going uphill' as the shoe stiffens up as the foot rolls forward, but on the trails where the ground is uneven, this is a little less noticeable.
The deeper than usual midsole for a trail shoe can feel unstable on very rough ground, so watch your footing or choose your routes carefully.
A breathable mesh upper combined in a seamless construction with durable overlays for added protection make the neat upper simple yet effective.
Multi-directional lugs provide good traction that is most at home on dry rocky trails. It's ok in the mud but the depth of the cushioning then detracts. Keep to firmer drier trails and paths and you'll find the shoe just right.
A capable off-roader for those wanting extra cushioning or going that extra mile. Fit and feel is familiar to HOKA fans and added traction means you can venture further off the beaten track. As with most trail shoes the route you take can dictate the idea shoe, but chose your tracks wisely and this shoe will serve you well.
PROFLY cushioning midsole is softer in the heel for cushioning and firmer in the forefoot.
