An ok shoe but now, in a growing range of shoes from the brand, there are better options available, hence it loses a point in its overall score this season.

Our verdict

As the brands range is ever expanding this shoe has become a little lost. Ok, it performs very well, but there are better options available that offer more - Mach 4 perhaps?

  • Positive
  • Lightweight
  • Reasonable cushioning
  • Relatively smooth ride
  • Negative
  • Better options available from the brand

First impressions

Not too different from the first generation. What you do notice is that because it's unchanged, where many other brands now use better qulaity foams, is that what was once a soft cushioned feeling can feel a litttle 'flat', especially in the forefoot.

Midsole

Single piece of compression moulded EVA with partially exposed areas to the outsole. The exposed areas on the sole will get worn pretty quickly and will look messy, it's just the way it's made and ultimately doesn't affect the performance too much over the intended life of the shoe. It's a max cushioned shoe (well, it was a few years ago, but now most brands have 'pumped up the volume' of their cushioning!)

Upper

Simple design, simple mesh, fits ok and does the job. Nothing to get too excited about and nothing wrong with it.

Sole

Only minimal pieces of rubber are added to areas of high wear. These pieces work well, but the rest of the exposed EVA outsole show signs of wear very quickly!

Conclusion

A simply shoe that although well priced does feel to this tester somewhat lacking when their of much better options available from the brand.
