A good package from Columbia. A good looking and well cushioned shoe but can it compete against the market leaders?
A snappy looking shoe with a rounded outsole offering good grip especially on rocky trails. Decent cushioning makes this a good offering but in a very tough market at the price.
A surprising trail shoe in that it fits and feels very much like a road running shoe except for the added traction of the sole helping to continue to provide grip on light trail surfaces.
This isn’t a shoe for the fells or for deep mud, but for light parkland and footpaths it feels great. The soft, flexible design makes the shoe fun to wear and means it easily adapts to uneven terrain.
There’s a ‘rounded-off’ design to the footprint of the sole, which allows the foot to follow uneven ground easily and adds a little natural stability to your progress.
The brand's Techlite+ foam delivers responsive cushioning and stability, without sacrificing comfort.
A one-piece upper is seamless with a gusseted tongue and printed, rubberised design that helps provide both support and durability. The padded heel collar gently turns away from the Achilles so there’s no chance of irritation.
Adapt Trax is the brand's outsole rubber which provides decent traction in wet and dry conditions. 4 mm outsole lugs with angular front and rear orientations provide grip on trails and rocks but might struggle in the mud.
It’s a very surprising shoe and one which, if a carbon fibre plate was to be added, could be transformed into a ‘super-shoe’ such is the overall ride. For those seeking a lively off roader for varied (not too muddy) surfaces it’s a fun and lively ride.
