Coming in at well under £100 this shoe is an amazing bargain. Based on the Ghost model from a few years ago, you get a serious shoe that iss proven as a daily trainer. Bargain
With soft cushioning and smooth transition, the Trace keeps you focused on your run for a fantastic price. It is a slightly stripped back Brooks Ghost that makes the line planning a little confusing. This is a great shoe that confuses the price gap and value above it...
As a real Brooks fan willing to pay top price for quality, I am slightly confused why Brooks has offered the Trace! It's a fantastically cushioned, light training shoe that is a really good match to the Brooks Ghost but with a way better retail price. A competitor would be pleased as Brooks are slightly shooting themselves in the foot here!
Lightweight BioMoGo DNA cushioning adapts to your speed, stride and weight to help deflect impact away from your body. It carries the footwell and even moulds itself to the shape of the underfoot, allowing the platform to fully support the curvature of the underfoot. This midsole technology offers a lightweight feel, excellent energy return, and comfortable cushioning - paving the road to better training sessions and new PRs. Having the cushioning and support helps to lessen the impact placed upon your joints as well as attenuating shock, minimising the potential risk of injury or discomfort. A segmented crash pad cushions your landing and creates a seamless heel-to-toe transition
Engineered mesh offers a performance fit with a superb breathable upper. The upper wraps around your foot for enhanced comfort as well as expanding with the foot to improve performance, flexibility and ensures a full, unrestricted range of motion. Engineered mesh promotes efficient moisture management by actively and efficiently wicking away the build-up of excess sweat and moisture to leave you feeling cool, dry and comfortable as you strive for the best results and performance. Additionally, cool air is encouraged to circulate, creating a drier, healthier environment for your feet to thrive. A padded tongue sits comfortably against the skin and guards against friction as well as irritation such as chafing. The traditional lacing system offers a secure, locked-in feel while you run.
The outsole is extremely durable and will provide plenty coverage over 100's of miles. Decent lugs mean you will be able to run on a wide range of different surfaces and gives great grip.
If you want even more Brooks cushioning, buy the Adrenaline GTS, but if you just want a great everyday trainer and are on a budget - buy this, thank us later!
For an alternative, check out the more expensive Nike Pegasus or the Asics Cumulus.
