The Glycerin 14 neutral running shoe offers super-soft cushioning and comes equipped with everything you could ever want to glide through your run in supreme comfort.
It’s the kind of shoe that gets you thinking. You can see it’s going to offer serious cushioning but does that come at a cost? It feels nice and flexible and the weight isn’t too bad and the grip looks ready to handle most conditions. A long run beauty for sure.
Look to the Nike LunarGlide for something similar.
In Brooks’ world, cushioning has already been a priority. Over the years there have been some pretty impressive shoes and the Glycerin certainly sits in that stable when it comes to comfort underfoot. On a scale of 1 to 5, give these shoes a 5. Amazingly, Brooks uses a very light and responsive Super DNA midsole that provides the cushioning needs of the runner 20% better than the original BioMoGo DNA. Given BioMogo is very comfortable, you can imagine the soft response these shoes provide. Of course, those who love a harder ride should stop reading now, but there’s plenty of us who love to treat our feet and these are the shoes to do just that. Moving on down, the grooves in the midsole help with flexibility so these are unforgiving cushioned monsters (as shoes have been in the past); they are ready to give something back. At the bottom of it all is a tough rubber outsole to ensure good grip and durability.
The shoe tech team has been hard at work when it comes to the uppers. The mesh is constructed with 3D Print Overlays to make for a very breathable, flexible, supportive sock-like home for your feet. A midfoot saddle that directly connects to the laces keep the foot secure and adds support to the upper.
It’s great when you’re right. Pick these shoes up first time and everyone will say ‘long run comfort’. And that’s what they provide. OK, you won’t go to the races in them, and yes racing gazelles out there will look elsewhere, but ‘normal’ everyday types of runner who just want to feel good about what they’re doing will welcome the Glycerin 14.
How was the super soft Brooks Glycerin 14 for you? Let us know, we’d love to report your findings.
