Everyday plush comfort from this soft but stable workhorse.
Soft, smooth riding but stable comfort. A quality workhouse of a shoe.
The Brooks Glycerin 19 GTS is a renamed Brooks Transcend so if you were a fan of that model, the GTS is the replacement.
The shoe is fundamentally a a Brooks Glycerin 19 with the addition of the brand's GuideRail support system. The Glycerin is their top of the range cushioned shoe so if you want supreme comfort and soft cushioning but need a bit of stability, then the GTS is going to tick that box.
The shoe uses the DNA LOFT foam which delivers smoooth riding comfort. The foam is soft but it is the addition of the GuideRails in the midsole whoich helps keeps the unstable among us on a straight line. They really help steer the foot but if you have significant motion control issues, you might need to look at other models such as Brooks Addiction or Asics Kayano.
The Glycerin GTS 19 is very similar to one of the brands biggest sellers, the Adrenaline GTS 21. The Glycerin is more expensive as it offers slightly more DNA LOFT foam in the midsole.
It shares the new and improved fit of the standard model. Top end fabrics are used to hold the foot snugly while being highly breathable. This model is very comfortable and an improvement over the previous Glycerin and Transcend.
A guide grove runs the length of the sole helping to steer your foot through transition. There is also plenty of rubber to ensure durability.
A brilliant combination of soft, shock absorbing cushioning and stability. Now with a better fitting upper, the Glycerin GTS 19 is a shoe than can be used on a daily basis over long distances.
One thought might be, would yo uneed to spend the extra over the already extremely good Adrenaline GTS 21? If you've got the money, go for it.
For comparisons, check out the Asics Kayano or the Asics Cumulus.
