An update to the brand's premium, responsive-cushioned model. With its 'energized' ride it's a good update too, being 20% lighter than the previous model.
A solid performer but such is the overall quality of the Brooks line that perhaps other models in their range are better value.
Lighter, softer feeling upper and a more responsive ride. Overall a good revision to the previous version and as a result, our score nudges up a touch.
The new DNA AMP midsole is 20% lighter than the previous model but manages to retain the responsive feel as well as the durability. The guiderails work well in keeping the foot stable and are now moulded in a single process with the whole midsole. This makes them more effective and contributes to the weight reduction.
The new knitted upper is softer and has a real premium feel, it fits well with no bunching as can be the case sometimes.
A new, softer outsole material adds a little extra cushioning and flexibility as well as reducing weight, so all good here.
Improvements over the previous model in all areas help make it a great update. The ride is responsive and supportive and durability is great. It's a really premium construction. It's a tough call on the overall score, there's no doubt if you try the shoe you'll like it, but the Brooks range is so strong that there are other slightly better value shoes in the range that this model competes with.
