A very popular shoe. It remains largely unchanged (yet again) and while still doing the job, other brands are pushing ahead with better cushioning and more effective control.
Comfortable, reliable and familiar. The GT2000-9 remains a very popular support shoe offering. But, isn't it about time ASICS made this shoe a standout model to compete with the likes off the BROOKS ADRENALINE GTS 21 which seems to be leaving this behind.
FIrst impressions are a shoe with minor updates. New design mesh to the upper and slight tweaks to the midsole. Fits and feels the same. Fans won't be dissapointed but will new runners still be drawn to the shoe as they were 10 years ago?
FLYTEFOAM cushioning is used, with a medial post (DUOMAX) to provide support. GEL remains in the heel and forefoot, so it's a familiar and largely unchanged feel.
New seamless uper fits well and has nice finish, but ultimately it's only similar to what you will find on every other shoe at this price point from competitors. For a shoe of this popularity from a brand so big, it's only what we expect and infact we'd expect more.
Pretty standard stuff here again. It does the job and is hard wearing, but it's starting to look a little dated and the rubber compound actually looks a cheap grade to previous versions of the shoe.
A popular shoe. It does the job and many will stick with it. It's just that for a brand so big like ASICS they can do better and really should do at this price point, which is the most competitive part of the market. The shoe is so popular you'll easily be able to find last seasons model at a much cheaper price.
Another similar shoe to consider is the BROOKS ADRENALINE GTS 21 that offers similar, great all-round performance.
