One of the brands best-selling models the GT2000 updated for a smoother ride
In a market of so many new models it could be easy to forget the GT2000, it’s been around so long, but it still remains one of the best all-round performers on the roads.
The ASICS GT 2000 8 has had an overhaul with many features tweaked. This new version is not only lighter but also offers a softer ride. The midsole materials are softer but more responsive than the previous model. The upper has had a complete remodelling blending great comfort and ventilation.
The GT 2000 sits roughly in the middle of the brand's stable line above the Asics GT-1000 v9, and below the GT-4000 and stability king, the Asics Kayano 26.
Gel cushioning remains to reduce initial impact on heel strike, but it’s a new updated design and it is combined with FLYTEFOAM midsole cushioning for a softer landing and gait cycle roll through.
Support is in the form of the DUOMAX medial posting combined with the midfoot shank (TRUSSTIC SYSTEM). This combination is tried and tested and continues to provide excellent control for over-pronators, now with a smoother feel that’s even more comfortable.
The seamless upper provides an irritant-free wrap. Twin Layers of mesh form a structure that is snug while allowing the foot to move naturally. The heel fit has been re-mastered and is better for it.
There are no surprises with the outsole. The GT 2000 8 features the ASICS High Abrasion Rubber+ (AHAR) in the heel. This carbon rubber delivers exceptional durability.
The forefoot features a blown rubber compound for responsive cushioning and flexibility.
