A versatile off-road model with enough grip, thanks to the tred on the Continental rubber outsole, to tackle the mud and rough terrain whilst offering enough cushioning to make the drier trails comfortable.

Our verdict

It's a decent shoe, but a little expensive given there's no really advanced technology in there. It's a solid performer, so for fans of the brand, give it a go.

  • Positive
  • Durable construction
  • Good traction from Continental rubber sole
  • More traditional heel drop
  • Negative
  • Feels a little stiff
  • A little expensive

First impressions

A well made and durable shoe, the Continental rubber outsole uses a studded design to provide traction off-road.

Midsole

Standard CM-EVA midsole provides the cushioning - it's ok, but it's not Boost or any similar cushioning technology and because of that the shoe lags a little behind competitors.

Upper

A breathable mesh upper and reinforced overlays around the midfoot, for support and toe bumper for protection and durability.

Well made, it does the job but it is a little on the stiff side until you've covered a few miles and got that fabric to adapt to the shape of the foot a little.

Sole

Continental rubber provides the traction and does a great job - infact it's the standout feature of this shoe.

Conclusion

Reasonable go anywhere shoe that offers decent levels of cushioning and traction. It's well made and durable yet doesn't really stand out from the crowd as there's no cushioning technology (anyone for Boost?) or other premium features except the now standard Continental rubber outsole.

Technical info

Standard EVA is a lightweight foam midsole for light, resilient cushioning - basic but effective enough.

Continental Rubber Outsole offers increased traction in both dry and wet conditions.

Mesh upper for soft, breathable protection while remaining light in weight - reinforced overlays for protection.
