A great overall package: stable, well-cushioned and fairly light.
The Adidas Supernova Sequence 9 is an everyday shoe and it certainly feels that way. Grip looks great, the build (working from a 10mm heel to toe drop) feels comfortable and fans of the Boost system will know what to expect from the cushioning.
Runners look for moderate support will enjoy the flexible construction the Supernova Sequence provides. If you’re looking for support, there’s always a fear the shoe will be too unresponsive but to be honest the Boost system has perfectly overcome that. You’ll feel like you’re moving along nicely while the Stableframe technology provides that additional support you need without being overbearing. It certainly makes the shoe feel like it’s a good choice for long runs and while some may say it’s a bit heavy for the marathon, there would be the comfort benefit in the latter miles so they are worth thinking about.
Fit is something adidas has got to grips with and indeed our testing team opted for the word plush when it came to describing the general feel these shoes provide. But that extreme comfort doesn’t come at the expense of performance. You’re not weighed down or confined to a soft spongey ride. The flexible, breathable nature of the fit helps you drive off.
The adidas Supernova Sequence is a great option for runners looking for a bit of support on their long run. We’re always a bit wary of support shoes in that they can be a bit unforgiving, but this is a flexible, moderately light number that works well.
How was Supernova Sequence for you? Let us know, we’d love to report your findings.
