A good-looking shoe that are comfortable and offer a decent level of cushioning.
These are the kind of shoes that feel great straight out of the box; light and responsive in the first few strides you’ll know these are a summer kind of footwear. If it’s raining outside on the first day you put them on, you might find yourself reluctant to head out and get them dirty. Save them for special occasions.
Flexible and lives up the Bounce technology Adidas uses. Time was Adidas shoes were on the hard side, but these days that’s a long way away. There’s a soft foam core within a firmer, compression molded EVA midsole making them much more forgiving, out of the soft and responsive school of thought. The 10mm differential is also very accommodating and easy to get used to - a cushioned shoe that offers acceptable support, spot on.
A brilliant engineered mesh upper using something Adidas calls Forgedmesh moves with your foot, living up to the sock-like feel description. It uses a neoprene-like mesh, full sleeved design, urethane parts. Seams, as you’d expect, are long gone and something you only read about in history books these days.
There is a grippy rubber outsole but we found it’s best suited to moderately dry runs, partly because of the way the shoe has been put together and partly because the grip is ok but not much more than that. Treat them right though and they’re treat you perfectly well - roads, dry trail or drizzle. If you're heading out past Lake Windermere, choose something else!
More or less you’ll be happy with this shoe - it’s averagely good in everything it does. Certainly it looks good and certainly it feels good. Would we want a little more performance? Probably. For a casual 4-miler on a Tuesday night, these will do the job. If you’re planning longer, more regular outings, Adidas have better shoes for the task.
