An all-round racer/trainer, the Boston is light, resposive and resonably well cushioned.
With such a wide range of shoes available from adidas as well as other brands, the Boston remains a decent shoe but you'd have to be a super loyal brand fan to have this in your collection when it remains somewhat unchanged after many years.
Like many of the brands shoes right now, first impressions are that the shoe hasn't really moved on much in recent years. It offers the same lightweight, responsive cushoning for use as a faster paced training shoe or race day option. Cosmetically updated but ultimately the same shoe as previous versions.
If you want a faster adidas shoe, check out the Adizero Adios or the super-fast carbon plated Adizero Pro.
A full length boost midsole is combined with a layer of Lightstrike foam. This combination works well, infact we think better than purely boost alone. It steadies the shoe up a little and the combination has a more constant and reliable feel - altogether more organised.
An engineered mesh design and breathable knit provide a good, no-nonsense fit.
Continental rubber provides great traction on a variety of surfaces and proves very durable.
It's a good shoe, just not exciting right now. It's largely unchanged from previous versions and yet the market is evolving quickly meaning there are more enticing shoes around to do this job.
Boost is a lightweight midsole composed of TPU pellets, delivering a soft and responsive ride.
Continental is a rubber compound that provides improved traction on inclines and wet surfaces.
Knitted Mesh throughout the upper provides a breathable overlay free wrap.
