New Balance Running Shoe Reviews

We run is all the shoes we test and we do not receive payments from the shoe companies.

If we are provided with a test shoe from the brands, we always say so within the review.

All reviews are completely independent.

We at Shoeguide think that New Balance are getting a little left behind in the cool technical stakes of the running industry with basic but well-made shoes that are good but not spectacular.

Nothing about New Balance really jumps out and says wow right now except the amazing ability to still buy shoes in numerous widths, which is a massive bonus for people with a less than average foot shape.

The shoes are good and feel great, but with every model, it would be fairly easy to name an alternative shoe from another brand than someone likes more. A solid range with no stand out shoes really does make it hard to showcase the NB range as a top end running brand right now.

There are no real technologies to talk about that stand out as innovative or particularly noteworthy. NB shoes made from good quality CMEVA (Fresh Foam or Vazee), which are extremely comfortable not a patch on adidas Boost, Nike React, or Saucony Everun if you compare them like for like.

If you are a fan of the fit and feel of NB because of the great last shapes, then the shoes are good and worth trying, but if you are not in need of a unique shape you could be better looking elsewhere right now for alternative brands offering better technologies, better underfoot comfort and better responsiveness.
